Artist Bio

Joe Kool is a blues/rock band that performs original music written primarily by guitarist Ted McDonald. Backed by the rhythm section made up of Keith Clark on bass and Yoann Priolet on drums, Joe Kool performs with energy and style. Their motivation is to get the crowd up dancing and ensure everyone has fun!

Ted McDonald – Guitar/vocals

Ted McDonald originates from Toronto, Ontario. Currently he resides in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. Ted started out playing drums Drum Corps with The Oakland Crusaders, Queens York Rangers/Unity Flute & Drum, (Queens/Unity had many of his family in them) and played in numerous bands around the Toronto scene in the late 80’s, early 90’s. A highlight from his days in Toronto was jamming with Jeff Healy and Murray Mclaughlin.

Moving to the west coast and switching to guitar, Ted found the blues and began a life long quest. After working in a few bands in the Vancouver scene playing guitar and bass, He placed an ad looking for musicians to form an all original blues band. From there he teamed up with Bassist Keith Clark and Joe Kool was formed. He is currently one of the prominent songwriters for Joe Kool and is the guitarist for them.

Yoann Priolet – Drums/vocals

Yoann Priolet originates from Paris, France where he played in a number of bands around the Paris circuit. His passion is Music…..all music, from around the world. As an eclectic, he’s been practicing and performing in several bands ranging in everything from Motown, RnB, Soul, Jazz and Rap to Blues, Rock and Heavy Metal. A dedicated passion goes to French songwriters from the past to present. Along with playing drums, Yoann also plays the guitar and bass. Integrated as the drummer for Joe Kool in the fall of 2009, he is now enjoying his new musical experience in Western Canada playing blues in a cool atmosphere. He also enjoys racing cars and motorbikes in his spare time and is a computer expert.

Keith Clark – Bass/vocals

Keith “Bubba” Clark was born and raised in Surrey, BC, Canada. Playing guitar for most of his life he switched to bass in 1990. He is a veteran of the Crescent Moon Coffee house in White Rock and continues to pursue the blues whenever he can. He is the original member of Joe Kool and has played with other bands such as The Jayne Priest Trio, Soundog and filled in with a variety of other bands. Joining forces with blues guitarist Ted McDonald, a new line up of Joe Kool was formed. A card carrying extrovert, you can see him jumping off the stage and mixing it up on the dance floor during a show. Energetic and outgoing, he will get you up and dancing, ensuring the crowd has a good time.
